The sports industry does not only consist of athletes and managers. There are also the reporters or journalists. They are the ones who go to watch live sports and report trackside or from the studio. They follow the season and the athletes. They are the ones who build a narrative and share it to the public. It got me thinking whether they do sports betting or not and uses whatever inside information they have. Or do they spread something just to bet something different? If you were a sports journalist, would you enjoy betting on the sports you report on?

It depends on the agreement on the job since employer usually have a terms and conditions for this kind of job in relation to gambling since some companies might consider this as conflict of interest because your job is to create report about sports which you have inside information that might give a huge impact on the betting once released to the public,

If assuming there will be no conflict of interest. I will probably placed bet considering that I do already analyze the game and watch it closely.

I was gonna say something similar as far as a conflict of interest. I wonder how many of these sportswriters and journalists share info with family and friends and take a cut though?

I personally think they're probably paid enough to not even consider risking the job, but I've seen some crazy stuff in the sports world. Everyone has likely heard of Michael Vick who went to prison for dog fighting. On top of the world 1 minute and in a cell the next.
