After success with Xabi Alonso, Bayer Leverkusen lost him to Real Madrid but not only this, they sold many star players to other clubs which are good for their club financial balance sheet in this summer. In long term Bayer Leverkusen will have to rebuild their squad with many new players with no guarantee of success and how they fell into crisis before Xabi Alonso appearance in their club is a warning for them.
That's good for the club's balance sheet, but not for the club's overall performance, as we can see Leverkusen is in trouble right now. There's no stability after releasing Xabi Alonso or several key players, which has only made Leverkusen's performance even more uncertain. Ten Hag was sacked after just a few competitive matches, and now there's no guarantee how a new coach can make changes in such a short time and with the quality of players they have, so Leverkusen is still taking risks this season.

But they identified a set of problems within a short period of time that convinced them it is the right decision to get rid of ten Hag. What I don't understand is why Bayer Leverkusen needed a few weeks when almost any amateur knows that ten Hag was not the right guy for that job. Going from a charismatic job with good character to a narcissistic guy like ten Hag, how the hell did they think it was the right decision? The club bosses should suffer from consequences as well. It is always the same, they mess up their job, but the only guy having to leave is the coach.
