Whatever the result, it’s really up to them how they write the script. One thing’s for sure though, both will go home with a big payday. Easy money, especially since no one’s really going to get hurt with Mayweather’s style. If Tyson managed to survive against Jake Paul, then it should be even easier against Mayweather.
Knowing how Mayweather fights, I can already see how boring the fight will be since there is a chance Mike Tyson will be the one engaging most of the time.According to wikipedia it is said that their fight will be “some time in Spring 2026” what for me means that there might be a fight and might be not 
they are only checking how people would react on such announcement, and if there are low response, the fight wont happen. If a more possible fight announces (I mean any current big name from active fighter), Tysob vs Mayweather might not happen.
Now that you mention it, I think I agree, they are probably trying to see how people will react, but I think there will be more announcements about their fight in the coming months to try and hype it up. they are only checking how people would react on such announcement, and if there are low response, the fight wont happen.
