If I remember correctly, gold was also a currency before it was used as a gold standard, then became a store of value as it is today. So I think bitcoin can also be called a currency, not just like a currency. But it is not suitable for the modern economy we live in.

Using a scarce, uncontrollable currency like bitcoin and gold will only cause our economy to become chaotic and collapse faster, rather than bring any benefits. So I don't see it as a currency, and it's more suited as an asset, an investment.

What makes it - chaotic - to use BTC for some services if there would be such an alternative?

Surely, it wouldn't be used for groceries and such: but for something digital, why not?
