And within myself, I am still wondering, what could possibly lead a person back to gambling after successfully quitting initially? Know well the reason for initially quitting was addiction, does it make sense to go back to gambling and become even more addicted?
I often encounter such people in my community, with various reasons, such as quitting because of addiction, quitting because of significant losses, and so on. What they actually need is discipline in gambling, including discipline in time management, financial management, or a bankroll for gambling, and managing everything to avoid potential risks, so they can be truly safe and comfortable when gambling or betting. Furthermore, I don't think quitting suddenly is the best way to overcome addiction, instead, I believe a temporary break is the best way, as it can reduce the intensity of gambling while also maintaining discipline. So, I don't think addiction can be completely eradicated, it takes time, using the methods I mentioned.
By the way, I have also often found that people who stop gambling because of a major loss are on the road to addiction, because they eventually return to excessive gambling out of "revenge". So I advise anyone not to do that, it is better to pace the gambling sessions, than to aim for revenge.
