Yeah, I was also expecting a competitive match between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the final. But the result was completely opposite. Afghanistan batsmen couldn't stand in front of the bowling of Mohammad Nawaz. He has destroyed the batting line-up of Afghanistan alone. The match would have been a little competitive if the batsmen of Afghanistan had shown some responsibility. The target wasn't anything big, but they lost by a big margin.
Afghanistan is not a weak team at all in T20s. Especially their bowling line-up is great. They have the ability to fight with any team around the world in T20s. In that context, when Pakistan was bowled out for 141 runs in yesterday's match, I thought the match would be great. Although Afghanistan's batting line-up is a little weaker than the bowling line-up, the match could have been great since there were not many runs. But Afghanistan's batting failure and Mohammad Nawaz's hat-trick and five wickets put Afghanistan on the backfoot. Yes, the biggest contribution behind Pakistan's victory in yesterday's match was bowler Mohammad Nawaz. Afghanistan went on the backfoot a lot due to the wickets of Darwish Rasooli, Azmatullah Omarzai in the last two balls of the fifth over and Ibrahim Zadran in the first ball of the seventh over. As a result, they were all out for just 66 runs.
