The sports industry does not only consist of athletes and managers. There are also the reporters or journalists. They are the ones who go to watch live sports and report trackside or from the studio. They follow the season and the athletes. They are the ones who build a narrative and share it to the public. It got me thinking whether they do sports betting or not and uses whatever inside information they have. Or do they spread something just to bet something different? If you were a sports journalist, would you enjoy betting on the sports you report on?

To me it is pretty clear those who dedicate and make a living off sports through paying attention to tendencies have an advantage or edge over the common people who do not have enough time to invest on research and making sure they have the best information to gamble with. If I was a reporter/journalist specialized on sports (perhaps one I like, such as football) then I would indeed bet and use my information to have better chances to profit on it. Though, I would be careful and ask if my job contract allows such things, I would not like to put my livelihood at risk because of betting when I am not supposed to...
