Open thread: What is your type of perception about bitcoin; do you consider it as a currency or as an investment asset or both?
Since the beginning of Bitcoin's price growth, it has become more of an investment asset than a payment method or a currency, because people saw that its price is moving up and down, and they took advantage of it by buying it when it was low and then selling it when it went higher. That's how it all started, and now it has become the norm. If you ask 100 people, I'm pretty sure that almost 90 of them will say that Bitcoin is only an investment asset for them, or a trading asset that they buy and sell for profits. That's how most people think about it, and that's why it has gained so much value as well.

If Bitcoin hadn't become a favourite investment asset for people, it would barely reach where it is today in such a short period. The only reason why Bitcoin gained so much value is because the adoption skyrocketed when the world started realizing that Bitcoin is not dying, but it's going up, and they can make money from it, and then everyone started buying and holding so that they can get profit as well, and they did, almost every investor from the past had made profits during this bull season.
