If you're serious about quitting gambling, you must be prepared to leave the environment where you're surrounded by friends who gamble. You won't be able to quit gambling if you stay in the same circle - but once you do leave, the new environment will help you forget about gambling. Finding new activities and circles that aren't affected by gambling can help you forget about gambling - but some gamblers don't want to do this so they potentially become more addicted than before.
I agree with you. Although it may seem difficult, we must be able to do it, especially if we have strong determination. We can certainly do it, even if it means isolating ourselves at home for extended periods. But honestly, it's hard for me to find friends who don't gamble at all. With online gambling so easily accessible these days, and everyone now has a cell phone, it's not surprising that there are gamblers in any given environment. That's why I chose to isolate myself at home.
