The question now that the family has revealed names of those involved, can the committee go after them? Of course this will go on trial and will be dragging the names of those involved. But I think by now, it's very obvious that with the life style of this two engineers, they should be guilty of misuse or misappropriation of public money or property and they should be put to jail by now.
But I don't know how the justice system in the Philippines. If those high officials involved themselves, then maybe they know that they can still get away with it despite the overwhelming proof like the speaker of the house.
They ruined their reputation and profession from the time they started receiving bribes. But knowing their justice system, would be a long time before we actually see justice of what they did to the government funds. This maybe the reason why they can do such thing because they know that they can find some loopholes to escape their justice system. Of course, right now, they are in hot seat but later on, they can always get away because the justice system in this country is very slow. More than likely, these people will be out of the country before the government will serve a subpoena on these involved people. What are the chances?
I don't think that their reputation is important, sad to say. As long as they can enrich themselves while in the position, they will do that. Doesn't matter for this corrupt figure, as long as they can have all the money they want for them and for their family to live a lifestyle that they can only imagine.
It's not that the justice system is slow, it's that corruption has really takes over. Maybe a couple might be put to jail, but the congressman and those close to the President and Speaker of the House, which by the way are related, I doubt that big fish are going to be punished in our country.
