It is going to have a huge knock-on effect because many of India's biggest cricket teams were sponsored by these game providers that are now instantly outlawed, along with other sports that had advertising deals.
There will be other big companies who will take advantage of this, swoop in, and take the sponsorship place for these teams so as to now have their own names being promoted, so it will just be a temporary setback for these teams, a problem that will pass quickly, but not for the game providers.
I think it's just going to drive betting underground...
Surely, you don't expect a large population to just stop with the ban, they will seek alternatives.
