Alperen carried his team once again today. I'm curious to see if the young player can lead Türkiye to its first European basketball championship.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up contending for the championship, especially after knocking out tournament favorite Serbia. Against Greece, their chances look promising, if Turkey can contain Giannis and limit his impact, they stand a strong chance of winning. Their offense is well-balanced and doesn’t rely heavily on just one or two players, which gives them flexibility and depth on the court.
Turkey did not knock out Serbia, they just beat them in the first round in group play. Anyway, I think Turkey vs Greece is a fairly balanced matchup with 2 strong go to guys that can take over at any time. I think Giannis is a bit harder to contain but Alperen has a bit more help that can get Turkey over the hump.
With all the surprises we have seen up until now I hope Germany can prevail today. It would be crazy if we would see yet another surprise today. Go Germany!!
My bad—turns out it was Finland that knocked out Serbia in the Round of 16. Anyway, I’m placing a bet on Turkey against Greece, because as I mentioned earlier, Turkey is the more balanced team. If Giannis has an off night, Greece will struggle to overcome Turkey’s depth and team-oriented offense.
