Doomscrolling or doomsurfing is the act of spending an excessive amount of time reading large quantities of user-generated content or news, particularly negative news, on the web and social media

basically doomscrolling is aimlessly scrollig through social media without any real intentions. being on social media also generates dopamine which is the same happy hormone that gambling can give you. we both doomscroll or gamble when we are bored. what do you think is worse, gambling or doomscrolling?

is it healthy to engage in these two activities excessively?
If you believe the many warnings, then doomscrolling negatively affects our brain, you get a quick dopamine but in the end it will lead to negative consequences. I think that in gambling everything is arranged differently, and you get more adrenaline here, and you can only get dopamine if you win, if you lose, then other hormones will be produced there. So the difference in my opinion is significant and it is better to make several bets a week than to aimlessly scroll the news feed, and I see that this is exactly what people do for many hours during the day and do it every day.
