Doomscrolling or doomsurfing is the act of spending an excessive amount of time reading large quantities of user-generated content or news, particularly negative news, on the web and social media

basically doomscrolling is aimlessly scrollig through social media without any real intentions. being on social media also generates dopamine which is the same happy hormone that gambling can give you. we both doomscroll or gamble when we are bored. what do you think is worse, gambling or doomscrolling?

is it healthy to engage in these two activities excessively?
Excessive doomscrolling is probably not healthy for anyone, because anything done excessively will inevitably end badly, including doomscrolling and even gambling. However, if you're asking about the negative impacts of either, they actually won't be harmful if we can control ourselves and don't become too careless with either of them on a daily basis. However, for someone who may have become too addicted to either, I think the most significant negative impact is doomscrolling, because on social media, there's a wide variety of content mixed together when we scroll every day, from sexy women to crime news and even corruption news that can incite anger among readers.
