Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that an Artificial Intelligence-generated “minister” has been appointed to tackle corruption and promote transparency and innovation. The name of the bot is
Diella and her responsibility is to help ensure that public tenders are fully free of corruption, and ensure that government work faster and transparently.
It's this sort of BS that gives a bad name to genuinely useful generative AI implementations.
Corruption issue isn't that we need robots to identify it... I mean we can use AI to analyze some documents and flag anomalies, which is all what appears to be happening here, but the actual legwork still needs to be done by actual humans, because the real issue is in the conditions for the corruption to exist (which this AI will not solve) and the lack of enforcement of whatever laws are being broken (which this AI will not solve).
If anything, this probably makes it easier for the perps to get away with it. All they need to do is figure out the correct prompts. And get good lawyers who can shred this chatbot nonsense in court.
