in order to be good at HODL'ing btc/crypto you have to 'despise' $$$ a little bit or you crack under the pressure...so that was my mental trickery to HODL

Experienced it myself and seen it with many others who managed to hodle through bad times
Or the thought that there are always be much more $$ (or whatever is your country currency) printed.

Bitcoin has come a long way...here is to another 16, then another.
...sometimes I worry about the corruption of the main idea(s), but so far whatever the game theory predicted has played out more or less how it was envisioned (albeit, maybe a bit slower).
Imho, it remains to be seen how Treasury companies would play out in bitcoin. We will probably see at least two other large treasury companies joining the fray (among the public companies) soon: XXI (J. Mallers) and BSTR (A. Back).
The game theory that's the thing. It's such a wonderful system: You can fork anytime you want and everyone is free to use that fork or another. Everybody always has a free choice. With that kind of hydra-like built it's nearly impossible to go back to a system that doesn't give you the choice like fiat..
Sometimes I think Bitcoin was invented by some time traveler or Aliens lol... But the code was too imperfect at the beginning, so I think it was just natural evolution waiting to happen
