The market’s been a bit more active lately, so I’ve been doing some light spot trading ,just staying consistent and watching for small gains where possible.
The trading competition comes with lots of opportunities but a trader needs to be more careful and active in the market such that they won't be able to make careless decisions during the that period. So no i think it you can't really focus on trading at that moment is best to give up the context but trying to say this usually results to more confused trading process and it depends on one's decision.
Of course before a trader joins competition it's assumed that they all believed themselves and know their capabilities to handle the type of competition they are about to join. No one just wake up a day and decide to join a competition without them knowing how to trade, which would generally affects their overall trading experience and could lose heavily without winning and it's also a 50/50 conditions where if he don't make profits he lose, and if he makes profits then it's a gain to him.
