Even though like 98% of my portfolio is BTC, I would still like to be able to store alts as well. Another solution could be having 2x HW, but that's also hassle.
Theoretically, you can have 1 hardware wallet on which you will generate two different seeds, one for Bitcoin, the other for alts, but that seems even less practical to me than having 2 devices. If, say, you have 1 BTC or more, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment, only an air-gapped wallet provides you with maximum protection.
