I was having a conversation about gambling with two young men and one of them said gambling is not for the poor people, that it has the proclivity to favour rich people much than with the poor, and the examples he gave made me to come close to endorsing his interpretation.
His argument is that the rich people gambling do not have to pack a lot of odds as in parlay bet to accumulate a high odd size that will give a satisfying potential win. The rich has the money to risk huge amount to a single game for instance 2 odds staked with $1 million to win $2 millions, but the poor staking with $100 to win $2 million has to pick multiple legs to accumulate odds to get such potential win. It hence decreases the gambling winning chance whilst the rich gambler chance remains increased.
I agree with your Topic but not the argument reasoning.
Yes, rich people are favored by casinos. They are treated special on real casinos and have dedicated person to take care of them. Rich people can spend more money on gambling and more the money, more is casinos profit. In physical casino, serving one rich could be as beneficial as serving tens of budget gamblers so they are of course the favorite. Online casino is not much different, they also favor the rich but the resources needed to allocated don't change much by number of players so serving one rich and serving 100 of budget gamblers would not be much different for them so they love volume regardless of what number of people it is coming from.
But the example about parlay or taking risks is wrong. Whatever you may gambler, your odds are not different. You can bet a minimal amount or thousands of dollars the odds for single or parlay bet remains the same, so does risk.
