I actually heard about this story some months back, but i didn't show much interest because i knew that it was all political. I don't know much about the constitution, but does the president of a country have the constitutional right to suspend a sitting governor without a probable cause?. The minor disagreement between the previous governor and the current governor should relate to godfatherism i guess.
Of course, the governor is going to retain his position and power, but there is already a downgrade to his administration. I guess he will have to dance to their beat from now on so as to remain relevant in the game. It is what it is, that's politics for you.
