Bologna are also very unpredictable but Aston villa are the better side here obviously, it's just a bit disappointing that they are winning with just a single goal and the match is almost coming to an end...my bet was for Aston villa to win or draw and it seems that it's successful, bologna doesnt stand a chance against villa, even from the history it's evident ...I hope villa would last long in the Europa this season
The game is over and Aston Villa was able to get their first win of the season in the Europa League match against Bologna. Watkins was supposed to double their lead with the penalty kick which he missed. Anyway, they were able defend their lead till the end of the game.
It was a deserving win for them but they had to really put in the effort to get the win actually, it did not come easily for them. I did expected more Aston Villa actually because they were the hosting side, they had the opportunity to win like a host and the bigger side but then they win eventually and that is what matters the most, but I must say with this kind of performance, they may not have a chance at the europa this season if they do not get improved.
It was not an easy win though but they secured the 3 points which is necessary. This is just their first game of the Eropa cup season and I'm hoping for them to get a better improvement in their next game. Maybe Aston villa took Bologna for granted that they failed to prepare way better, and if that is the case, I believe they will do very much better.
