A family member of mine, one of those who learnt about crypto very late still end up getting scammed, while some will call this foolishness I prefer to call it lack of knowledge. Ledger sent a message requesting for his recovery seed and he sent them, without thinking twice or informing me first, every coins he own since 2023 is gone, now he is starting from scratch after so many emotional tears been shared.
It is gone and not coming back, there is a lesson here if you are buying and holding coins, no one have the right to know a single alphabet of your recovery seed, not even the companies that made the wallets.
It’s never your fault because they didn’t contact you before making that decision to respond to their message by sending the seed phrase to them; but my confusion here is, how is able to settle down for a ledger wallet that he needs to set up with some money without knowing the basic principles behind Bitcoin keys and address that your seed phrase is your security of your wallet?
Well I can’t say anything much, but if you introduced him to crypto and Bitcoin, then you should have explained to them that seed phrase is his Bitcoin because losing it will result to complete lose it Bitcoin in his position.
Always learn before you decide on investing; FOMO will always lead newbies astray because you as a newbie will invest whiteout some basic knowledge just to feel among, and when something went wrong, they can control and make sure their coins are safe.
