Developers cannot hide behind aliases if this coin is to gain major acceptance/credibility...

First off, its a group and not an individual, and second, they aren't actively promoting BTC.  Can you imagine if the members of the Bitcoin foundation were known to the public only through aliases?  Im not saying I trust the bitcoin foundation, but I am saying that there is no way I would trust them if they were known only through aliases.
  
Its about credibility, and like I said, I am right.

How does identity correlate to trust here? I can understand if you are doing a transaction where if one party defaults, then you can seek the assistance of the law if you know the identity of the defaulter. In this case what's identity got to do with anything? What if this was Satoshi's lil pet project? Then it becomes "credible" or something?
