Is this somthing which can be run under VMWare esxi (or converted to esxi)?
Correct me if im wrong, but isn't a personal p2pool the same thing as solo mining, ie, you get paid only for finding blocks and not by shares?

Hi,

You'd probably be better off making a new image for esxi, since if you're technical enough to have an ESXi box, you're also technical enough to run just the coin daemons for the merge coins (monocled and parallaxcoind), sending your mined coins off using sendtoaddress and save the overhead of having a GUI desktop on the box (the virtualbox image I'm distributing is based on Ubuntu desktop 14.04).

If you (or anyone else) fancies making an ESXi image and making it publicly available, that would be good - remember to remove the wallet.dat files before packaging for distribution though so they get regenerated by the user the first time they start it.

A personal p2pool isn't the same as solomining - you're still getting paid for VTC shares (they are distributed on the p2pool sharechain). Your node is basically becoming part of one big distributed pool.
