Can someone shed some light on this comment from the LibertyCoin thread? It's in the OP
"Important ANN:
We received news from the Zerocoin Team itself that they have abandoned the zerocoin project. Zerocoin is now a dead project. We had started implementing their library to Libertycoin hoping to implement a fully functional and stable version when they released more updates. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do now. We will start removing the zerocoin library that we added to the code, and we will consult with our developer if there are other anonymizers we can deploy in the future. For the time being we will realease an update removing zerocoin from our code, and Libertycoin will remain as a great X11 100% proof of stake coin with 16.5 Million units.
About implementing the Zerocash
We will certainly study it, and if we consider it stable we will do it. They have already abandoned one project, so we don't want to take the risk of implementing something unstable that could be abandoned in the future. We paid a high price with zerocoin.
Regarding the price fall:
- We are convinced today's dump was a very positive thing. Thanks to the users spreading FUD, we got rid of the weak hands and people who easily mined thousands of coins.
- Now Libertycoin has a better distribution thanks to the mechanics of the free market and the invisible hand.
- Thanks to the people dumping we managed to buy (with our own money) all the coins up to the 850 price. Coins that we will use for the creation of the Liberty Reserve Fund that will help paying for the further development of the coin.
The future:
- For the ones that have not noticed, there's not a single coin with 16.5M coins + 100% proof-of-stake + X11 trading at this price.
- In the Libertycoin team, we want to focus in to making Libertycoin a coin used in Real Life services and not just a coin for pure speculation.
- We are currently working with some members involved into the Bitcoin Foundation of a Latinamerican country (we will not say all the detailts yet) to create the first Fiat / Bitcoin exchange of that country, exchange that will include Libertycoin. It will bring a lot of press and buy volume to Libertycoin.
- We will continue working on Libertycoin. We promise you won't regret being part of this great community
Regards"
