The only way to fight asic is to constantly adapt and fork is necessary.
Human intervention and community involvement is the only way to fight asic and that is something that vertcoin vouch for.

Scrypt-N is just a part of Vertcoin, but if ASICs come along we will all just kick them in the nuts and go for another algo.
