I agree the coin needs to be moved off scrypt algo. The cost, noise and heat generation compared to other "gpu friendly" algo... you wouldn't do it. I certainly won't mine scrypt coins anymore, its a waste of energy. People are more conscious of being energy efficient these days so I think it would be a step in the right direction for DOPE's image.

I've mined a few of the GPU friendly algo's and I personally found Groestl to be one of the best in terms of energy consumption, noise and heat generation as well as stablility which is important. I could let the miner run for a week without having to worry about checking it or rebooting the rig every day.

As for POS... I like the idea of POS as its very energy efficient, but at the moment its a bit of a fad movement like country coins were. Lots of POS coins popping up because the idea is great and they are popular. However I think following the trend with POS would be a wrong move at least for now. I think emerging POS coins are seen by experienced cryto investors with the view they are just trying to ride the wave created by the coins that pioneered POS to snatch a quick profit, adding nothing new or of value to the crypto world.
It would be bad for DOPE's image if it were bundled into that category of coins.

As for lighting a fire under DOPE and off the launch pad... well that's going to take some innovative thinking from some peeps with a sound understanding of the crypto world and where its headed. Devising and implementing industry changing features that will set the standard for cryptocurrency architecture, functionality and security.

One of the problems I can see with crypto currency be accepted more widely is its willingness to be accepted by retailers or as payment in general. I think a big part of this is due to the crippling volatility that all coins experience due to market manipulation in various forms. Finding a way to stabilize the value would go a long way to gaining acceptance as a viable form of payment.

No mean feat I know.

Second problem is scammers. Designing a payment/transfer system that keeps payee and payer honest would go a long way to help peeps feel safe using DOPE to both buy and sell.

I guess crypto's face all the same issues security wise as digital fiat so maybe looking into how these issues are managed and go from there.
