Can anyone actually share experience regarding a submitted claim?

Firstly and most importantly do they respond to confirm receipt?

Secondly do they let you know if something about the claim is incorrect or ill-formed?

Any report on first-hand experience of snail-mail communication with the the lawyer's office given in the notice would be greatly appreciated.
