Intellectual property rights for a decentralised community brings interesting challenges. IPR requires protection, who would seek IPR infringement action?
Maybe the Darkcoin Foundation would need consensus to own certain IPR, but that starts to focus attention on a central point of potential failure if people start to use Darkcoin for illicit activities. The alternative would be class actions by those that contributed to bounties.
I'll take a look and see if there are any precedents - starting with the bitcoin foundation.
Practically, I suspect it will boil down to, "Get with the programme, or get shunned and fork off."
Personally, at this point anyway, I don't care if we see a raft of Darkcoin related cuddly toys, T-shirts, condoms or kitchen appliances, in ghastly and unauthorised colour schemes, as long as it spreads awareness.
