They are professional money makers and been burned too many times, they are greedy, and most of all they don't believe in any coin or community. They only believe in money, so unless you dump 2000 to 6000 BTC in a day they will not believe in anything they read here or anywhere.
It is going to take moaar action from all of us to get this baby going again. We are a "me too" coin, who cares that BC was first to make a working POS coin. Now everybody has one.
As a community we should invest in more power from a creative group of devs that can take this good thing into the best coin. If we just wait for rat4 to do his next thing we may be waiting too long. Put a fire under rat4, offer him 100 BTC and put him in charge of a group of DEVs. This coin will then be a future leader.
