Does anyone think DRK can surpass bitcoin to be worth the most? I mean is 1000$ a coin unrealistic?
I think it can happen yes. Darkcoin is painfully exposing the limitations of other coins. People will realise that innovation > adoption. After Napster came Kazaa, then came AudioGalaxy, then some others, then came BitTorrent etc. We are the Kazaa of crypto. Bitcoin will be dead before you know it.
If bitcoin dies, we all die. VC money is flowing into Bitcoin, not darkcoin. Bitcoin doesn't need to have all the fancy features, it has the most developers, the most money flowing into it. It's the cryptocurrency gold reserve. So in a world where bitcoin is worth 10 000$ , Darkcoin can definitely be worth 1000$+.
FYI: Most Venture Capital firms have by-laws that forbid them from investing directly in Bitcoin, hence numerous Bitcoin startups are being pushed to market these days (probably too fast then they're ready for) so millions of dollars can be thrown their way which will allow these VC's to say 'they have a piece of the Bitcoin pie'.
Darkcoin right now obviously has no other startups behind it since it is still incredibly young (and is still the mastermind of one person).
Give it time, though, and the smart VC's will start throwing money at Darkcoin-related firms pushing Darkcoin-using products.

I've been meaning to say I like your username. His book (Reminiscences of a Stock Operator) was the first investing book I ever read. I've been enjoying your comments in the thread as well. Thank you.
