Looking over the 'Announcement' forum there really is a big pile of X11/POS hybrid coins being released. 
I am thinking that is Particle goes down that path it is just another tag along and would REALLY need the new modular wallet and exchange to be online and operational immediately to seperate ParticleX from the rest or ParticleX will just be part of the trash pile of X11/POS clones.
Moonmoon have you looked into Quark/POS. I really think Quark algo is superior than X11. Quark runs just as cool and power efficient on GPUs as X11. More secure. Better asic resistance. Quark algo #1.
Or you seem to have some serious skills so if you turn the difficulty knob up to 11...how about come up with a unique twist -> Particle algo...maybe add a few extra rounds than Quark like X11 did but keep the random rounds so it retains the superiority of Quark. What would that accomplish...besides giving some attention just from the uniqueness, on re-release we would be CPU only for a little while until someone updates sph-miner with Particle algo. Right there is two positives...1)people love some CPU mining and that seems to cause a frenzy of attention and 2) once sph-miner is updated it is like constant advertising with its references to particle algo.
Just brainstorming and tossing ideas...

i think there are 2 approaches for PRT.
1. keep Particle and migrant a PoS chain like SAT as you mentioned before . the problem is that we don't know how it will going , but keeping PRT brings a lot of advantages:loyalty of fans , big exchange and maybe PRT can be a leader if success .
2. swap PRT to PRTX . in this way we dont take the risk and it is easier to accomplish ,but some fans may just leave , and in such days of CryptoNote coin , like MRO and XLB , PRTX may not get enough attention .
so , i think keeping PRT and migrant PoS is OK , but if you have decided to develop PRTX , maybe you can consider about CryptoNote , creating Particle Send or something like that .

Im gobbling more coins. I think some investors are shaky with the recent news of PRT as its being dumped on poloniex, but i have faith moonmoon is going to deliver.
