In a short term, basically strong buy orders will push the price up. Strong buyers will eat a lot sell orders, which in part gives the buyers a signal that the coin is bright and going to rise. Consequently, more investors add into buy orders, pushing the price further up. In the long run, I would say supporters/community/solid works around the coin supports the price, after all people only invest coins having a brigh future, right?
