Am I understanding this correctly? They complain about a 1% house edge, but they are taking 12.5%?

Either way, people offering "binary options" people are well known to be the scum of the earth. I can't imagine these people being much better. Anyone working for this company should stop justifying what it is they are doing. Any small part you play in making this world a shittier place is not helpful. Tricking helpless people into paying 12.5% of whatever money touches this site is horrendously unethical. Please stop working for these people/ being these people.
