Bank holidays.... Seriously, it's my money, let me spend if when I want it. Oh wait, you mean to tell me it's not my money? That's right, the money at your bank is your bank's money, not yours.

You can use debit and credit cards, and whatever an ATM can do, but most branches are closed and isn't considered a business day for stuff like wires and ACH. With Saturday and Sunday, too, there's a fair chance a significant chunk of new US money coming out of banks for buying the trend will clump up mid-late this week.
