As long as it has a community to back it, it will always have a market. If people give up on it, it'll die. If they keep pushing it, it's showing that a social experiment can be successful, :p.
You need more then a community to sustain a proof-of-work-based crypto currency. You need a strong network hashrate. Otherwise it doesn't matter how much community you have, the coin will get attacked, forked, and essentially destroyed. This is Doge's most likely future, and it was a destiny from the start due to a horribly considered distribution model.
Again, Doge was and is a joke.
