Don't kid yourself that regulators give a damn about whether cryptos have transparent blockchains or not
Look, all regulators need (look for) is an excuse. Anonymity is the perfect excuse.
Up till now, regulators in the US have been pro-bitcoin because law enforcement tells them that transactional crime in crypto is actually easier to track due to the leger.
DRK is a different story and can be used as a sound bite or a example of the "crackdown" if it comes.
Politics = perception = reality.
Lot of assumptions in this post. It doesn't make sense to pass on the money to be made by adding DRK because of paranoid assumptions.
The view on regulation is currently being considered in a similar light to Bitcoin. The Bank Secrecy Act and existing AML policies towards digital currency will still apply. In general, moving in and out of fiat requires the use of regulated entities.
Non disclosure of financial transactions on a blockchain ledger is not a reason to stop anonymity tools such as Darkcoin.
