The same disadvantage: many masternodes -- less income to owners. Better spend it for a bounties for promotion and future development.

And that's the flaw in your objection: either loads of people DO bother and the price rises because of lessened supply, or they DON'T bother and I bag loads of BTC from the dividend. Either way, win.
