I think the more reasonable explanation is that the coin was overdue a revaluation and that revaluation is now complete, so people are locking in their profits which is just the sensible thing to do.
Nothing to do with "trying to cause panic".
It's 1300% up on a few weeks ago. Is that not enough for you ?
