Yes I'm behind a firewall and I haven't access to it. So it should work through it.
I deleted peers.dat and restart the wallet with following .conf file:
server=1
daemon=1
listen=0
addnode=198.147.23.176
[...]
My friend: I cannot make it work behind your firewall. Also I don't have experience running the daemon and I am just a regular user like any other person. Sounds complicated on your end!
Okay so here's my questions:
1: Can you get to a free wifi connection and do you have a laptop you can take there?
2: Does it have Linux or windows, this laptop?
Going from there I can help you, because IP is essentially free! But yes, if you run a local firewall you'll want to allow the Ben connection.
I tried to sync it on a friends home with open firewall but it doesn't work too. 0 connection.
I tried it with the windows GUI wallet and the headless linux version.
