The closed source problem is no different than NXT a few short months ago.
Keep it closed source for as long as you like, dev. Retain the first mover advantage. Release when good and ready. No hurry.
+1, I've seen a lot of 1 post, newbie, accounts trolling because darksend is closed source. I'm 99.9% sure that those shill accounts are from people wanting to copy darksend as soon as it's open sourced.
I've also seen posts by multiple devs of coins wanting to add masternodes to their own coin.
