How The Distribution Will Work
- We will not distribute any NFD coins which have a unknown stakeholder without a valid hash. Those untraceable allocations have been deleted from the distribution list.
-We will not distribute any NFD coins whose hash has a problem like a weak secret passphrase, duplicate secret passphrase, or invalid hash. All these NFD coins will be held back in category accounts until the problems are solved or they become part of the bounty system. This rule is for your safety, as we would really hate for you to be robbed (again.) Remember, your NFD will be saved for you if you have this issue.
- We will use a program to distribute all NFD coins. A NFD block can hold 1023 transactions. It needs at least two blocks for distributing all coins. Because all transaction will not fit in one block, we will distribute ordered by category ascending. Category 1 will be first; Category 4 will be last.
- If you used an online hash generator for your secret passphrase, we advised you to move your NFD to a new secure account. This sounds a little bit paranoid, but we've been robbed enough! More than most, we all should put safety first.
When you believe your NFD coins are in a safe account, do a outgoing transaction, send some NFD coins to yourself, assign an alias or send a message. An outgoing transaction publishes your public key. Your account has full 256 bit security only after at least 1 outgoing and confirmed transaction! Without an outgoing transaction, your account security besides your security of your secret passphrase is only 64 bit. So even if your secret passphrase is unbreakable over the life of the universe, it still might be a good idea to register an alias.What You Can Do Before The Big Moment
- If you don't already have it, download your NFD client! For safety's sake, this link goes to a regular generic directory list with links to the downloads. That's what you should see if you click - nothing else.
- Have a last look through all six sheets of the distribution list spreadsheet. The webview only shows the "Totals" sheet; to get to the rest of them, you have to click the blue links at the bottom of your browser. Please make sure that everything's all right by looking at your entries in every sheet you're listed in, especially the "Category" listings.
- If you see something wrong, please PM me about it. I'll be monitoring my PMs and making any changes you need right up to the last minute.
- Everything ok? Then drop a comment! I'll be monitoring this thread too, although with time off for sleep and other luxuries.
- We're glad to have you spread the word in other threads, but please don't spam around.
- Keep checking this thread; a new thread will be posted when the distribution starts. I've already submitted a request to Poloniex to add NFD to the voting page. This should give you a good idea about what I'll be asking you to help out with after the distribution ends.
