I'm also a developer and if I would have the time probably I would be able to rebuild the wallet form a stable codebase.
I suspect that could be more time-consuming than you might anticipate. The codebase seems to be a demonspawn of peercoin-cum-primecoin and dogecoin. It doesn't help that the code's been reformatted by an IDE to add vast amounts of gratuitous syntactic litter to the diff.
atm, I'm using meld on ubuntu trusty, seems to filter out the worst of the clutter.
