The private key deal is a little weird...please confirm users can withdraw their coins from a HT wallet to a different wallet and then keep the keys/funds in their own control?

I would love to speak about integrating HT into a project I know about.
Currently I am on the site trying to find the API information.
Can you let me know where that would be located please? *I have not signed up yet but I will.
