How do i tell if i have found any blocks?
You'll see it in the Demon (Green letters). Something like this:
2014-Jun-17 20:43:43.634402 [miner 3]Found block for difficulty: 189778
Or you can refresh (command "refresh") in the wallet to see your balance.
