So you think that only the sender's "choice" should be respected and not the receiver's ?

To me that wouldn't even be as good as today's fiat banking system - the privacy of a person's income would be a lottery depending on whether their payers happened to use darksend or not.

The concept of financial privacy applies to *all* financial transactions I would have thought, not just expenditure. In fact, if anything, most people are even more sensitive about their income than their expenses.

I suspect the devs are still mulling over whether to leave it optional or not but I wouldn't make financial privacy a lottery with this coin, I'd make it a guarantee because there's no other reason to be in this space.
