This error typically means that you have some typo/error in your configuration file or parameters.

To figure out real reason, please try first running

yam -c yam-qcn.cfg

with default config that comes with miner, without chainging it (be sure that you copied config to directory where yam executable located).

If that works, start modifying config file step by step (change your address, change number of threads, etc).

Also will be very helpful if you provide info on which exactly build you are using.
