i dont understand this part of the op:
otc means "ovet the counter" what does that have to do with mining?
and how can you know how many people are buying / mining? it could all be just one guy with tor browser?

It means that there were more then 1800 workers (in fact), and close to 1000 real miners, but that was yesterday, now it is a little less because of some more coins that were launched today.
