Also increasing house edge for big bet is completely laughable, even Las-Vegas would not think of doing such a thing. Why punish a high-roller for giving more action and volume? In Las-Vegas they would actually lower their edge to get those players.
I found this discussion about raising HE for higher bets interesting. As the above comment points out, Vegas normally lowers HE for large bets.
But one of the things that is unusual is normal gambling sites (B&M casinos to lotteries) considerably raise house edge for large payouts. It doesn't seem to have been discussed on this thread at all. Perhaps it is because people didn't play jackpot plays consistently.
There is a few milestones where some players won million to one payouts, but presumably they were gambling dust.
Does anyone remember anybody winning a 100X or higher bets where they gambled something more than "dust"? I realize the dooglus is probably too busy making plans to comb through old bets anymore.
