Because it doesn't matter if you actually did something wrong or not.
What matters is if some (crazy, pissed off, unbalanced [insert adjective]) person believes you did something wrong. If they believe you did, then they may just rock up on your doorstep in the middle of the night.
Real World 101: Innocent people get attacked all the time because the attacker thought they did something when they didn't.
I am not arguing that coin devs should always be anonymous. I am arguing the naivety of this statement.... If you do nothing wrong, why you worry about that?
